CRCP

The goal of the project is to empower the marginalized and disadvantaged children to enjoy their right to survival, development, participation and protection. Additionally, the deprived families supported to improve their economic situation on the basis for the realization of the rights of their child. It is being implemented in

  • 35 villages in Vikravandi, Mailam, Marakanam and Vanur blocks of Villupuram District since 2014.

It is a four year project and will be ended this December 2017. Under this project, various community based child protection mechanisms such as Child Activity Centre (CAC), Child Rights Club (CRC), Children’s Parliament,Child Rights and Protection Committee (CRPR). Through these programmes, 7500 children benefitted every year from this project.

These centres provides an opportunity for the children to learn academic and extra-curricular activities. It is a leaning cum recreation centre and facilitates to bring the children in the village to come together, build rapport and support each other. The centre also offers a platform for them to learn about children rights and exhibit their talents.

  • 2,100 women in 110 SHGs were also trained on children rights and child protection.

470 women also trained on dairy development and provided financial assistance for income generation activities.
